On December 27 the plaintiffs insisted that sanctions are necessary: "accepting Mr. Giuliani’s representation would also mean accepting that Mr. Giuliani does not possess any of the emails or text messages that are surely on the phone (and perhaps other electronic devices) that Mr. Giuliani currently possesses, including the iPad which Mr. Giuliani has used during conferences before this Court."
