Judge Mehta: There's a 13 page plea agreement. And a statement of offense. You've agreed to prosecute, to provide testimony to the grand jury or at trial, and for interviews?
Grods: Yes, your Honor.Judge Mehta: Maximum penalty for conspiracy, 5 years in prison... Sentencing guidelines: you're in Criminal History Category 1, pending the pre-sentencing report. Offense level: the base is 14, 8 added because threat of violence for obstruction of justice, 5 more
Judge Mehta: Also, deleting signal communications. So, 29 minus 2 for minor role and three for acceptance of responsibility - so, 24. So, 51 to 63 months, as a guideline.
Judge Mehta: The parties have agreed not to argue for upward or downward, with one exception. The government can file a 5K motion based on your cooperation....

Judge Mehta: In Paragraph 17, you admit you were trying to impede Congress from certifying the vote by intimidating government personnel. The decision whether to release you pending sentencing is up to me. Grods: I understand.
