Nomura Trader Gramins Gets Continued Stay of SEC Case Amid Criminal Restitution Talk

SDNY COURTHOUSE, May 25 – Since 2015 the SEC has pursued a civil case against Michael Gramins, a former Nomura trader who was prosecuted criminally as well. 

 On May 25, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Robert W. Lehrburger held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it. 

 He had been told that the issue of restitution is still being pursued in the criminal case.

Judge Lehrburger agreed to continue to stay the civil case, after for a status letter in 60 days or earlier if there is a material event including in the relevent criminal case.

This case is Securities and Exchange Commission v. Shapiro, 15-cv-7045 (Berman / Lehrburger)
