COURTHOUSE,
Sept 22 รข A woman from
Guatemala with a pending case
in the Second Circuit Court of
Appeals had a GPS ankle
monitor imposed by ICE on
October 2. ICE told her to
return with plane tickets for
herself and her son by
December 1. On October 14 she
filed a habeas corpus petition
in the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York, where Inner City Press
found it. The petition says
she came to the US after her
husband, who she married when
she was 11 years old, nearly
killed her with a machete. She
now has an infant child whom
she is nursing. The case
has been assigned to Judge J.
Paul Oekken. This case is
Morales Martinez, et al. v.
Genalo, et al., 1:26-cv-9019
