Staff Critics of
Rights Commish Volker
Turk Cite Existential
Threat UNHCR to Take

Substack UN GATE,
Sept 8 â How corrupt and
decrepit has the UN system
become under Antonio Guterres,
in this case due to Guterres?
Today's example is again from
the Office of the High
Commission for Human Rights,
to which Guterres appointed
his unqualified crony Volker
Turk more than two years ago.
From OHCHR
staff - "Dear Matthew Russell
Lee, Many thanks for exposing
corruption in the UN... Lame duck
Guterres gave a 4 year term
gift to his crony, irrelevant
Volker Turk, with full
complicity of Elinor
Hammarskjold and prevarication
of Anna Lena Baerbock. At the
opening of the Human Rights
Council session, narcissist
Volker Turk launched another
one of his irrelevant
platitudes about Artificial
Intelligence and carefully
selected country situations
with notable omissions as he
always does. His irrelevant
statement marks the begging of
his fifth year in office with
OHCHR deeply sunk in a
financial deficit aggravated
by Turkâs managerial
decisions, surrounded by
incompetent directors like
corrupt Kim Taylor, Maarit
Kohonen or Peggy Hicks,
protected cronies like the
Matthias and Azra Behnke,
promoted favorites like
Francesco Motta or Veronica
Birga (the list is long and
more names will surface soon).
Turkâs Global
Alliance is an empty shell
like his UDHR75, his Knowledge
Hub or his Inquiries Branch
(where are the reports?). All
expensive waste of funds
detracted from field
operations that become less
and less relevant. UNHCR
smiles as they get ready to
take over emblematic Palais
Wilson that Volker Turk gave
away while he wastes public
resources in pointless
projects detached from
reality. Member states
have turned a blind eye to
OHCHR rampant cronyism.
Volker Turk has become an
existential threat to OHCHR.
Thatâs how sad it is. Staff
hopes the new SG will get rid
of the worst UN High
Commissioner for Human Rights
and his kleptocracy." Will Amb
Waltz and Amb Steggerda hold
SG candidates accountable and
force them to seriously look
into OHCHR mismanagement? For now, doesn't
look like it. Inner City Press
remains banned from the UN,
despite July 25, 2026
application, and its questions
are not being answered...
