Well, the day before Guterres was set amid Gaza, bombings and hostages to party down with Sharon Stone and the UN Correspondents Association at Casa Cipriani, WIPO in Geneva did the same. The World Intellectual Property Organization under Director General Daren Tang threw a lavish party on December 14, Inner City Press far-flung whistleblowing sources say. As one UN staff member put it: "Over at WIPO the Director General (Daren Tang) is throwing a lavish party for staff, complete with disco and gambling - with a theme of Casino Royale - see the attached notice sent to all WIPO staff - with a derogatory image of a woman in a slit skirt next to a man with a gun... How can the Director General of WIPO condone such gender stereotyping? In the other images, Director General Daren Tang is seen drinking champagne and playing roulette (apparently hired by WIPO), seemingly living out a sexist and colonialist Bond fantasy, while the world burns, and a short distance away there are demonstrations on the Place des Nations for the UN to do more to combat violence against women and hunger. What do UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Executive Director of UN Women Sima Bahous have to say about this? Is this an appropriate use of UN resources?" Well, Guterres has said nothing, refusing through his spokespeople Stephane Dujarric and Melissa Fleming to even answer if it is false that Stone is receiving a "UN" award from UNCA, apparently the UN Censorship Alliance while Inner City Press which reports extensively on the UN remains banned.
