Case Against Citibank For Aiding and Abetting Fraudster Nissen Proceeds into 2024 in SDNY

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Dec 19 – Citibank has been sued for aiding and abetting the fraud of Jason Nissen, former CEO of National Events of America.

On December 19, the case came before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Dale E. Ho. Inner City Press, which has long reported on Citigroup, is covering the case.

Citibank's S&S lawyer said that providing ATM and other banking services cannot constitute aiding and abetting.

But their motion to dismiss was not entirely granted by the prior District Judge.

Judge Ho endorsed a case management plan under which motions are due by April 26, 2024 with a next conference scheduled for August 6 and a pre-trial order due August 27, for a trial estimated at five days.

The case is Silverman v. Citibank, N.A., 22-cv-5211 (Ho)
