LITERARY SDNY, June 21 – The day after Juneteenth (observed) the Joshua Schulte trial continued. On the stand was Patrick Leedom of Microsoft, but before that the MITRE group, they worked with the FBI to investigate who leaked Vault 7.

On direct Leedom said Schulte was quickly suspect number 1, with strange logs in and the deletion of log files.

When, with an hour left in the trial day, Schulte got his chance to cross examine, he asked Leedom who paid for his hotel and taxis, and if there weren't others more qualified that him to investigate cyber tools.

These triggered objections, mostly sustained. Schulte soldiered on, saying he might have to bring in a confidential document for the cross, which would only resume Friday. No explanation of the two days off was given.

Kurt Wheelock had heard other judges talking about an upcoming Judicial Conference. And Judge Furman now said the trial would likely run to or past July 10. The alternate juror who needed to fly to Oregon for a dress-fitting could be let go, he said. But what about another, who wanted or needed July 5?

Schulte was led out, and then to the MDC. Kurt Wheelock went to cover two other trials wheeled out in the courthouse, one drugs, the other fake loans for cars. The wheels of justice turned slowly. More on Patreon here.
