SDNY COURTHOUSE, Nov 18 – Stacy Makhnevich sued MTGLQ Finance, L.P., a subsidaary of Goldman Sachs which buys thousand of delinquent and defective mortgages, under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and NY GBL 349.
On November 18, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.
The plaintiff says Goldman's MTGLQ Investors LP "filed over 1208 collections / foreclosure cases in New York courts." But plaintiff on her on bedroom apartment was never served.
Judge Netburn said fact discovery should be completed by February 28.
The case is Makhnevich v. MTGLQ Investors, L.P. et al., 19-cv-72 (Torres / Netburn)
