SDNY COURTHOUSE, Feb 3 – Queens NY resident Shi-May Chan owed a debt to Goldman Sachs, but it was discharged in bankrupcy. Then Goldman Sachs accessed her credit file from Trans Union. She sued.

On February 3, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Gregory H. Woods held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

Goldman Sachs is demanding compelled arbitration. But the plaintiff's lawyer says there is no longer a relationship requiring arbitration.

Discovery was also not stayed, but will apparently be limited: a single plaintiff's deposition.

The case is Chan v. The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., 20-cv-8831 (Woods)
