Teen From Venezuela Charged with Jostling Is Detained By ICE in OCJ So Files Habeas

SDNY COURTHOUSE, June 8 รข€“ A 19-year-old from Venezuela in ICE detention in the Orange County Jail since June 3 filed a habeas corpus petition in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, where Inner City Press found it. 

  The petition says that he was charged with "jostling," a Class A misdemeanor, and was adjudicated a youthful offender. He seeks to be released.

 The case was assigned on June 8 to Judge Katherine Polk Failla.

The case is Gomez Salcedo v. Arteta, et al., 1:26-cv-4801 (Failla)
