Sean Combs Trial Week 1 Now in Book Form With Letters Undocketed Inner City Press Filed

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, May 16 – In the first week of the US v. Sean Combs trial, there was talk in court about filings that were not included, even in sealed or redacted form, in the public docket.

On May 15 Inner City Press which is closely covering the trial (and has published now three books on it) filed an application with Judge Arun Subramanian and all counsel:

This morning before the jury came in, both the Government and the defense referred to multiple communications to the Court about evidentiary and other issues. But these are not in the public docket on PACER.

This application / letter motion argues that many if not all of these are judicial documents to which the public and press have a right of access. They should be put in the docket, now and going forward in this trial.

On May 16, after a robing room discussion with no court reporter, a May 12 letter was belated docketed, with redactions: Combs lawyer Alexandra Shapiro's "Opposition to Clayton Howard's Motion to Quash."

Late on May 16 Inner City Press published its third book on the case here (Amazon blocked the second book, so now on Google Play, and audio) - more to follow.
