by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, July 20 – A 23-year old man convicted of drugs and guns, and since with assault Corrections Officers while awaiting sentencing, was up for sentencing on July 20, 2023 before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Sidney H. Stein. Inner City Press was there, throughout.

Judge Stein asked defense counsel about the beating of the guards, who it comported with their "fight or flight" argument.

Later, the defendant said that he had not been the one to initiate. He faced 121 months or more, but was sentenced to 80 months, based on youth and work on education while in jail.

The overall case is US v. Wilson, 20-cr-126 (Stein)
