SDNY COURTHOUSE, July 15 – Coinbase in the SEC's case against it is seeking access to Chairman Gary Gensler's personal device and private emails, including from before he chaired the SEC.
On July 11 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Katherine Polk Failla held a hearing. Inner City Press live tweeted it, thread.
On July 15, Coinbase wrote in to drop its request for Gensler's emails from before he chaired the SEC, and to set a schedule: "With respect to the subpoena to Mr. Gensler, Coinbase has determined to seek the production of Mr. Gensler’s documents only for the period of his tenure as Chair of the SEC and not before that time. .. (a) Coinbase’s opening brief will be due July 23, 2024, with the brief limited to twelve pages; (b) the SEC’s opposition brief will be due August 5, with the brief limited to twelve pages, and (c) Coinbase’s reply brief will be due August 12, with the brief limited to six pages."
