SDNY COURTHOUSE, Jan 9 – No one can copyright the Cryptoqueen term and so it proliferates in documentaries about Ruja Ignatova, co-founder of the OneCoin fraud.
Now Deutsche Welle has aired "CryptoQueen - The OneCoin Scam," which along with the stock footage from Wembley Stadium (Sebastian Greenwood introducing Ruja to the song, "This Girl Is On Fire") to Uganda (Konstantin Ignatov at an orphanage), has interviews. With Frank Schneider, now on the lam, and a friend of Ruja's who opines she is in Dubai.
Schneider says from Athens she went elsewhere in Greece, with the idea of re-entering Bulgaria by land. But then after a text message "Home Safe," incongruously in English, her phone went dead, forever. Is she?
Inner City Press is pursuing, now on appeal, documents sealed in Greenwood's sentencing, as it did on Gilbert Armenta.
Other global networks are preparing their documentaries. But Mark Scott (strangely, the DW doc does not even mention him) is still not in jail, and frauds continue to expand. Inner City Press is covering the cases, and the artistic projects - and making one, "Crypto Criminal" audio book now here
