UN GATE, Oct 27 – How corrupt is today's UN under Antonio Guterres? Today's follow up is on his mission in South Sudan, UNMISS, about which his spokespeople Stephane Dujarric and Melissa Fleming refuse all Press questions. Inner City Press has asked them, and others, about the newest sex abuse case against the UN there. And this, which we exclusively published: "each Kenyan UN employee hired by Aggrey is required to contribute two months' salary to a fund. This fund is intended to support the construction of an office building in a prime location in Nairobi, which will be leased to an international NGO."
Now more, from a UN whistleblower sent to Inner City Press:
Dear Mr. Matthew Russell Lee:
Aggrey Kedogo has been instructed to remain in Kenya following the exposure of a corruption scandal by Inner City Press, a widely followed investigative source. Investigators are hesitant to challenge senior management, as they seek to secure permanent positions by transitioning from investigative roles to mission staff. Contractors and UN Volunteers (UNVs) are allegedly being recruited under unethical circumstances. It is claimed that some serve senior managers as personal aides or bar attendants, with allegations that contractors are bringing women from outside to gain favor and secure UN recruitment by making seniors happy and enjoyable.
In another scandal we reported, Spox Stephane Dujarric and Melissa Fleming are being asked to confirm / comment on the fill in the blank here: "The individual who was sent home due to a sexual scandal is Boitshoko Mokgathe. The woman who accused him is ___ , a senior Political Affairs Officer." Watch this site.
The senior Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) has struggled to contain the growing scandal
Same with OIOS - which covers up, and did nothing on DSS roughing up the Press.
It is Guterres, they say, who should resign - and end censorship. Watch this site.
