On July 30 Combs' lawyer Shapiro filed a 60 page motion for acquittal or a new trial, arguing among other things, "distinction between participatory sex and voyeurism is typically irrelevant in Mann Act cases. As explained, the statute’s drafters targeted pimps and traffickers who prostitute vulnerable women by offering them up to other customers, and DOJ policy since the mid-20th century has been focused on such cases (along with situations irrelevant here involving coercion or minors). But this is one of the extremely rare cases in which the statute is being applied against a paying customer—a john—rather than a pimp" - 60 page on Patreon here.
