UN GATE, Feb 11 – Today's UN is a glass house of mirrors, where censors speak of press freedom and the corrupt talk up transparency, and the US State Department has fallen into it.
It is partnering with a group that actively attacks independent press - to entertain correspondents from the Middle East.

"Dear colleagues, UNCA is extending an invitation from the US Department of State to journalists who take interest in the latest developments within the Arab world to hold a meeting with 13 visitors from the Near East and North Africa next Monday, February 13th, 2023, at 10:30 AM. The guests will be traveling to New York under the auspices of the US Department of State’s International Visitors Leadership Program to participate in the “Edward R. Murrow Program for Journalists – U.S. Foreign Policy Formulation" project. Please see the LIST of Near East and North Africa visitors available for the meeting. RSVP is required to attend the meeting. Please reply to this email to RSVP and receive further details about the event. The main purpose of this exchange is to highlight the significance of a free and independent press to the democratic process. While in New York the guests would like to become better acquainted with the influence and impact of the media, think tanks, trade associations, and international organizations on foreign policy formulation and initiatives. They are also eager to examine the rights and responsibilities of a free press from the American and global perspectives. Finally, the participants are looking forward to discussing operational practices, standards, and evolution of the locally based media outlets.
