SDNY COURTHOUSE, Jan 31 – Peter Strzok and Lisa Page both have lawsuits in the District for the District of Columbia, against Merrick Garland and DOJ.

But their counsel appeared on January 21 before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Vernon S. Broderick, how ever briefing.

This was was filed in the SDNY because of Donald J. Trump's legal presence in New York. But on January 31 it quickly became clear the case would be transferred back to Washington.

Judge Broderick ordered, "the Government's oral motion to transfer on consent the instand motion to quash the deposition subpoena directed to Donald J. Trump to the District of Columbia is hereby granted."

DOJ's papers make clear, albeit via footnote, that "neither the disposition of this motion nor the disposition of this case requires the Court to opine on the appropriateness of the former President's conduct. In similar fashion, this memorandum should not be construed as a defense of that conduct."

The case is, or was, Department of Justice, et al., 22-mc-20 (Broderick)
