SDNY COURTHOUSE, March 28 – Former law partner John Roesser is charged with "abusing the bankruptcy system by making false statements under penalty of perjury and submitting falsified records. After years as a partner at major law firms, Roesser owed the IRS millions of dollars; he lied to the Bankruptcy Court and the IRS about his purported receipt of millions of dollars in order to receive the protections of bankruptcy and keep his assets – including a multi-million-dollar residence and an Aston Martin sports car – while not paying his bills."
The indictment, said to have been unsealed on March 28, was on that date even in the afternoon not in the PACER system. Inner City Press has uploaded it here.
Roesser is set to be presented - with no District Judge assignment in the system, presumably before the week's U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New YorkMagistrate Judge Robert W. Lehrburger. Watch this site.
The case is US v. Roesser, 23-cr-155 (Lehrburger)
