SDNY COURTHOUSE, July 24 – Mark Pringle robbed banks in 2007 with a gun and fake bombs. On July 24 he applied for compassionate release. U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge William H. Pauley III held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.
AUSA Michael D. Maimim opposed release, recounting that Pringle was convicted of bank robbery as far back as 1975, then the North Fork Bank in Co-Op City in The Bronx on April 24, 2007 with a "hoax explosive device." He hit Washington Mutual on July 6, 2007.
He was ordered to pay restitution to Capital One Bank, which bought North Fork from John Kanas. In jail there was an infraction that even Maimim said it was "not worth discussing".
With that, Judge Pauley showed mercy and ordered Pringle released, to quarantine and smart phone video calls with Probation.
The case is US v. Pringle, 07-cr-1094 (Pauley)
