SDNY COURTHOUSE, Nov 27 – George Doumanis is in Otisville and is obese with hypertension. He applied for compassionate release.
On July 13 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Andrew L. Carter held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.
Judge Carter, who has denied many requests for release so far during the pandemic, said at the outset he intended to grant this one, but only after a plan to pick up Doumanis from Otisville with PPE was shown.
Doumanis' lawyer said this could happen as early as July 14 at 9 am.
