SDNY COURTHOUSE, Jan 26 – A former lawyer named Jeremy Alters, described as "disbarred and disgraced," has been sued for selling tens of millions of dollars in contingency fees he said he was owed.
The Morelli Firm, which bought, has now sued.
On January 26, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Gregory H. Woods held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.
Alters has moved to dismiss - and for sanctions. The Morelli Firm replies that this is a tactic disfavored in the SDNY.
This is what happens, it seems, when lawyers sue each others.
This case is Morelli v. Alters, 19-cv-10707 (Woods)
