UN GATE, Jan 13 – How corrupt is today's UN under Antonio Guterres? The follow up below, with leak, is yet once again on his mission in Colombia, about which his spokespeople Stephane Dujarric and Melissa Fleming refuse all Press questions. Inner City Press has asked them, and others, about the newest sex abuse case against the UN there. Nothing.
Nor on why OIOS, cited below, has not been reprimanded after a UNDT judge criticized the OIOS investigation against UN staff member Roger Kisumiro, led by Paul Harty who provided oral evidence, as “woefully inadequate” (paras. 49, 55, 66) (“The Applicant was clearly victimized by his colleague, RB, revictimized by OIOS with an inadequate investigation, and then victimized a third time by the Administration which seems to have blindly accepted the OIOS conclusions”).
Question: why are OIOS' Swanson, Harty and his OIOS team not being held accountable and fired for their gross negligence?
From Colombia, this sent to Inner City Press, with attachment here:
The UN Field Staff Union has accused Ms. Manuela De Luca, a senior official at the UN Verification Mission in Colombia, of harassment, abuse of authority, and fostering a toxic work environment. Allegations include favoritism in recruitment, retaliation, and mismanagement, causing staff resignations and increased sick leave. Disturbingly, whistleblowers are reportedly facing retaliation from the investigation office and UN officials, raising concerns about transparency and accountability.
Critics warn that these actions are tarnishing the UN's reputation and undermining efforts to combat corruption within its ranks. Now OIOS and Catherine pollard are attacking staff member who reported corruption and illegal recruitment with bribe. See the attachment, including "there have been a lot of tensions among all staff, in particular following a number of anonymous reports via email, some of which also ended up in the public domain, (inner city press)."
We'll have more on all this. No answer from UN Spox Dujarric on this. Keep the info coming.
