Student On MeToo Blacklist Sues NYU Which Hires Robbie Kaplan Fresh From Trump Win

SDNY COURTHOUSE, May 17 – A male New York University student who was listed in an online Google spreadsheet accusing sexual misconducted sued NYU.
The school now plans a motion to dismiss, represented by Roberta Kaplan fresh from victory in the E. Jean Carroll v. Trump case.
On May 17, 2023, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Katherine Polk Failla held a proceeding. Inner City Press, which covered Carroll v. Trump and published a book about it, here, live tweeted the Doe v NYU proceeding, here:
Judge Failla: Ms. Kaplan, as I was looking through the papers, I was wondering about the viability of a motion to dismiss. Is your client hell-bent, if I may use the colloquial word, on moving to dismiss?
Roberta Kaplan: NYU believes it tried to accommodate
Judge: When the plaintiff talks about losing jobs and having mental health reactions, does your client disbelieve this?
Robbie Kaplan: We gave him a letter, that NYU disapproves of the list. We offered counseling. That's all that's required by Title IX and Davis
Robbie Kaplan: This plaintiff has filed another case in state court against those he believes created the spreadsheet / blacklist. NYU could not investigate those who created the list - it would violate their First Amendment rights
Robbie Kaplan: The NYU cannot take down the Google Spreadsheet. Though we understand it has been taken down. Judge: I have not searched for it. How do you know it has been taken down? Robbie Kaplan: We can't find it.
Robbie Kaplan: We can file our motion to dismiss in 4 weeks. Many of the people in my law firm have taken a vacation after the E. Jean Carroll case (laughs)
Judge: What about the state case?
Robbie Kaplan: I think it's under seal Judge: I'm on Part 1 in the week of the 12th in June. So how about June 20th?
Robbie Kaplan: I would love that, your Honor. Judge: Plaintiff's opposition by July 21, the reply by August 4, Ms. Kaplan, if that works for you. Robbie Kaplan: Of course, your Honor
Plaintiff's counsel: I wholeheartedly oppose what Ms. Kaplan said in support of her motion to dismiss. But we'll put it in writing.
Judge: We are adjourned.
