SDNY COURTHOUSE, Jan 20 – Planned Parenthood was sued for race discrimination and responded by seeking to subpoena the plaintiff's current employer for all complaints by or against her.
On January 20, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Lorna G. Schofield held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.
Planned Parenthood's lawyer said it was relevant to know about the plaintiff's performance on job(s) since she was fired by PP.
But Judge Schofield said the subpoenas seemed designed to intimidate and retaliate, and quashed them. Instead, the plaintiff will provide information directly to defendant.
The case is Gamza-Machado De Souza v. Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc. et al., 21-cv-5553 (Schofield)
