SDNY COURTHOUSE, Oct 10 – A man arrested as a felon in possession of a firearm came to plead guilty before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Robert W. Lehrburger. The complaint against him has a black and white photo of the gun at issue in the snow on a Bronx sidewalk back in February.
He pled guilty and sentencing was set for January 15, 2025 before District Judge Jesse M. Furman.
After the plea, a group visiting from Japan filled one side of the Mag court gallery - Inner City Press was on the other side - and listened as Judge Lehrburger explained the process of the court. He was told there are no jury trials in criminal cases in Japan - and that this was the second most exciting part of the visitors' day, the first being if they could see "Puff Daddy," due upstairs at 2 pm.
The case is USA v. Reshard, 1:24-cr-392 (Furman / Lehrburger)
