SDNY COURTHOUSE, Nov 1 – Manasy Hardy Ravelombonjy sued Jean Francis Zinsou for having lured him from Madagascar "with the promise of a stable job and the ability to support his family," to work for the defendant, "a prominent diplomat for the West African nation of Benin."

 It turned into forced labor.

On October 26, 2022, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Edgardo Ramos held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

Judge Ramos granted the plaintiff leave to file a motion to dismiss the cross claims, by November 18.

But after the conference, diplomat Zinsou filed a notice of interlocutory appeal. The hope for impunity springs eternal.

The case is Manasy Hardy Ravelombonjy v. Zinsou et al., 19-cv-7025 (Ramos)
