SDNY COURTHOUSE, Oct 25 – Global Refining Group, a catalytic converter recycling and processing company, sued PMD Analysis and the couple which owns it, for stealing trade secrets - and more than 8000 photographs.
On November 5, 2021 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Gregory H. Woods held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.
Global Refining Group, it seems, believes that the couple, Robert Turcotte and Monica Armstrong, are stalking horses for another competitor.
On February 24, 2022, Judge Woods held a conference on Plaintiff's motion for summary judgment, which he denied. He asked for a letter by March 3.
On March 10 Judge Woods set a new schedule: expert discovery to June 1, and a next telephone conference on July 19.
The case was reassigned to new Judge Jennifer L. Rochon, who held a proceeding on October 25, 2022 which Inner City Press went and covered.
Counsel for Turcotte and Armstrong, as well as PMD Analysis, was seeking to withdraw, due to not being paid or responded to. Judge Rochon asked about attempts to reach the clients, then issued an oral ruling allowing counsel to withdraw. She kept the February 2023 bench trial date. Plaintiff's counsel thanked her for that. The defendants have 30 days to find new counsel.
