After Bob Menendez Got 11 Years Sentence Nadine Asked To Remain Free Judge Says No

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 29 – Amid reports of investigation against Sen. Robert Menendez for taking gold bars, Inner City Press' sources on September 21 it to expect on Friday, September 22 an appearance in Federal court in Manhattan by Menendez and his wife Nadine Arslanian, now facing trial alone. This scoop was true.

On April 20 the US Attorney's Office opposed, with a filing summarizing Damien Williams' discussions with Gurbir Grewal ("the USAO SDNY did not view Grewal as a target... On April 29, Judge Stein denied Nadine Menendez' request for bail pending appeal, writing that while "According to defendant, the Government manufactured an attorney-client conflict between defendant and defendant's preferred trial counsel, David Schertler, that forced Schertler and his law firm to withdraw from defendant's defense team and deprived defendant of her Sixth Amendment right to the counsel of her choosing.
