Man from Guatemala Detained by ICE in Brewster NY Now Files SDNY Habeas Petition by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack SDNY COURTHOUSE, March 30 –A man from Guatemala who has been in the US since 2007 was detained by ICE in Brewster, New York. On March 30 he filed a habeas corpus petition in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, where Inner City Press found it.    The filing says that he owns a barber shop in Brewster, New York. The petition also calls him by several different names, and eevn nationalities.   The case was assigned to Judge J. Paul Oetken, who asked for a filing stating the location of the petitioner.     The AUSA wrote in that at the time of filing he was in Newburgh, New York, and not, as alleged, in MDC-Brooklyn.
