SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 1 รข€“ A man from Jamaica who was removed from the US in 2016 after conviction for first degree robbery was arrested again in the US in April 2024 while allegedly trying to sell ecstasy pills to an undercover NYPD officer.

He was indicted for illegal reentry, distribution of narcotics, and felon in possession / gun charges.

His Federal Defender filed a motion to suppress, and a motion to dismiss on Second Amendment grounds. A pre-trial conference was pushed to April 13.

On April 1 Inner City Press was in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York when the defendant was brought in and pled guilty - to Count 1, illegal re-entry. A control date for sentencing was set.

The case is USA v. Sewell, 1:25-cr-284 (Ho / Wang)
