SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 4 – After a circus-like civil case involving Guo Wengui in SDNY, which Inner City Press closely covered, here, March 15, 2023 saw the unsealing of a criminal indictment.

Not mentioned was another, related arrest on March 15, of Guo's chief of staff Yanping Wang, aka Yvette Wang. Inner City Press live tweeted her presentment when the prosecutors offered release on $5 million bond, but only with two co-signers they approve.

On March 22, Inner City Press was again the only media in the SDNY Magistrates Court when Yvette Wang and her two lawyers showed up, complaining that a proposed suretor with a $2.5 million property was rejected. Afterward Inner City Press asked Wang's lawyer Alex Lipman to confirm it is or was Steve Bannon. He said, "We're not going to answer."  Inner City Press' vlog, and live tweeted thread here.

On March 24 after 11 pm Wang's lawyer proposed eight names - letter on Patreon here.

On April 4, after Judge Torres reserved decision on bail for Miles Guo Wengui (Inner City Press story here, vlog here), Magistrate Judge Lehrburger held a two hour hearing, Substack analysis here, thread here:

There is no court reporter here. AUSA: Is this being recorded? Judge: Yes. Wang's lawyer: My client didn't flee after the asset seizure, nor after the SEC settlement.

Wang's lawyer: My client is a revolutionary. She has sacrificed to oppose the CCP. Vanuatu is now closer to China. She would not go there. Judge: Does the UAE extradite? Wang's lawyer: To China, yes... There is a trial in DC about China lobbying for get Guo

Wang's lawyer: She wasn't hiding the iPhones, nor the laptop. She has no furniture. So she stores things in the closets. The cash was in red envelopes, to be given as gifts

Judge: What about the Himalayan crypto, worth $13 million? Wang's lawyer: The SEC says it's worthless... BTW, it is illegal for the prosecutors to disclose that someone is an asylum applicant. But they did it...

Wang's lawyer: Forget the presumption of innocence, I mean, whatever... My client is a revolutionary, that is her priority, not making friends. But there are three prospective co-signers here. Pretrial could monitor all of her spending. I'm going to sit down.

Assistant US Attorney: She lives in a $1.1 million apartment - Judge: That might be considered middle income in NY. AUSA: Some of the proposed co signers have never met her. Another believes that she works at GETTR

Judge: Why couldn't they have bonded over the cause? AUSA: We offered bail early on, before the defendant lied- Judge: Only about the crypto. AUSA: She said she's been unemployed since Sept 2022  It's not true. She ran the show.

AUSA: Wang did not disclose her accounts with Citibank - and with China Bank of Communications. We no longer believe she can be released.

[One might ask, Because Wang  didn't flip and become a cooperator?]

Wang's lawyer: Why is the government misrepresenting evidence? They want her to cook. They want her to get a taste of the MDC, because she was the chief of staff. This is not a case that will be resolved quickly.

Judge: She will continue to be detained, pending info I'll review. Wang's lawyer: I'll submit in 48 hours.
