As Guterres Uses Ian Martin to Cover Up UNRWA Echo of Nepal and Libya Press Ban

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 22 – The UN under Antonio Guterres has attempted to cover up the role of its UNRWA in the October 7 attacks.

 Now with a lawsuit pending against the UN in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Guterres has named longtime UN official Ian Martin to "review" the mission.  

   Inner City Press, which was a resident correspondent covering and questioning the UN under Kofi Annan and Ban Ki-moon until Guterres has it thrown out as it questioned his undisclosed financial links to China, has some experience with Martin. 

  When he was the UN's man in Libya, Inner City Press was leaked a copy of his plan for the copy, a plan many called imperious. See the Christian Science Monitor, here, and even Al Jazeera (whose James Bays would play a role in Inner City Press' ouster). 

    Martin was similarly criticized when he headed the UN mission in Nepal, amid an unresolved scandal surrounding the counting of Maoist rebels' guns. That does not bode well for the UNRWA cover up.

    Martin is far from the worst UN official - but he did nothing when Guterres had Inner City Pess roughed up and banned, despite his human rights claims. And now amid UNRWA? Watch this site

Capital One Was Sued for Predatory Lending in East Harlem Now Motion to Dismiss Opposed

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 22  – Capital One Bank refused a payment plan and moved to foreclose on woman's property in East Harlem in upper Manhattan, NYC.

 She sued in state court - and Capital One moved to transfer the case to Federal court in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, where Inner City Press found it in the docket. 

 The plaintiff recounts how she was tricked, akin to predatory lending. She is seeking punitive damages and an injunction preventing further foreclosure actions.

On February 17 Capital One's counsel wrote in asking to extend its time to answer or otherwise respond - then it moved to dismiss.

On April 22 - after a rubber stamp of Capital One's Discover takeover - the plaintiff opposed the motion, asserting breach of contract and wrongful foreclosure.

Binance Sought to Dismiss October 7 Victims Lawsuit But Now Reconsideration Denied

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 22 – After the October 7, 2023 attacks by Hamas from Gaza, and CZ's and Binance's guilty pleas, the latter two along with Iran and Syria were sued. Argument on Binance's motion to dismiss was heard on January 30 by U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge John G. Koeltl. Inner City Press was there, thread:

 Judge Koeltl: I will rule at a later date

On February 25, Judge Koeltl denied the motion to dismiss. And on motions for reconsideration and/or to certify for interlocutory appeal, Inner City Press attended the April 22 argument and ruling. Judge Koeltl denied both motions - this while the Administration has asked for a week to reconsider its predecessor's support for UN immunity for its October 7 role. Watch this site.

UN Representative to ECOSOC Now Indicted for False Statements About Talks with Russia

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 21 – A woman describing herself as a UN Representative at ECOSOC was arrested on November 21 and presented in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on charges of false statements about contact with the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federal. Inner City live tweeted, thread

Inner City Press as only media here will report Judge: You are charged with false statements to US law enforcement about communications with Federal Security Service & official of Russian Federation.

Federal Defender: She also wants travel to New Jersey.

Judge: OK. Preliminary hearing in 30 days

After several continuances, on April 21, 2025 a three count indictment - Mann Act and two counts of false statements - was filed, and the case was assigned to the Chief Judge of SDNY.

The case is now USA v. Zarubina, 25-cr-179 (Swain)

As UN Staff Tell SG Guterres to Resign His UN Burma Envoy Bishop Like Him in China Pocket

UN GATE, April 21 –  How corrupt and decrepit has the UN system become under Antonio Guterres, in this case due to Guterres?

  On Burma Guterres named a China-linked envoy. He's been asked "We are alarmed by the Special Envoy’s business activities and connections to the mining industry and Chinese state-owned companies with possible or confirmed commercial interests in Myanmar, including Shenghe Resources and China Communications Construction Company. The UN’s response thus far is wholly unacceptable." That was Farhan Haq's evasions on Julie Bishop. On the below, he and Dujarric have not answered at all:

 Inner City Press, which Guterres has banned from "his" UN, has asked his chief censor Melissa Fleming why she now offers spin to questions about having ignored Haiti and Sudan, while refusing to even answer letters from pro bono law firms Quinn Emanuel and Duane Morris about it:

"examine the U.N.’s media branch, the Department of Global Communications, for its role in churning out anti-Israel propaganda.... Melissa Fleming, U.N. Under-Secretary-General for Communications, to clarify the department’s allegations of misinformation and disinformation, and to describe why "strong messaging" was required of the department. Fleming explained that the Department needed to "clearly explain the role" of the U.N. and its humanitarian agencies, and analyze "information environments to better understand trends that might pose risk to the U.N.’s work." .. Fleming did not state how much time has been devoted to the Haiti or Sudan crisis cells.  - explain that, and why Fleming has yet to see fit to respond in any way to inquiries for Inner City Press by pro bono law firms Duane Morris & Quinn Emanuel

Guterres had the critical Press roughed up and thrown out. There has been no due process since, not even a response to Guterres' Melissa Fleming to a pro bono inquiry for Inner City Press from the law firm Quinn Emanuel. We'll have more on this.

Alleging Rape by Jeffrey Epstein Doe 200 Sued Indyke and Kahn Now Quietly Being Dropped

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 21 – Jane Doe 200 sued Jeffrey Epstein's executors Indyke and Kahn, alleging their connection to an incident in which "Epstein came up behind Doe, grabbed her and pulled her pantyhose down before he physically forced her face down on the massage table and violently," etc.   On March 26, 2025 a proceeding was held before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Edgardo Ramos. Inner City Press, which wrote the book on Ghislaine Maxwell, Maximum Maxwell, covered it. From the thread:

Defense lawyer: Jane Doe 200, who claims Mr. Epstein raped her, also says she met Mr. Indyke - but he'd know nothing about it. Her lawyer suggests this was a RICO enterprise. That is false. Indyke did not deal with him daily. My client Mr. Kahn was the bookkeeper 

Defense: If Mr. Kahn helps some of these women with tax returns, it was not to help keep them in the country as sex slaves. And it had nothing to do with Jane Doe 200. We have settled 199 claims but not this one, which is unlike the others. 

Judge: Their letter does say that Jane Doe 200 had personal contact with Mr. Indyke.  Defense: It was never raised until responding to these motions. I am skeptical. Jane Doe 200's lawyer: Propensity evidence is admissible 

Jane Doe 200's lawyer: These two men have personal knowledge of Mr. Epstein's sexual assault and assisted in concealing them- Judge: You are making factual allegations that I don't know if they have basis in the record. I've read he assaulted women 

Indkye's lawyer: Plaintiff's lawyer is not new to this Jeffrey Epstein saga. Our clients were sued in another case, yes, that they should have known - it was not based on personal knowledge of assaults. He does not need this for Rule 415 

Defense: Jeffrey Epstein is dead. The only evidence will come from Jane Doe 200, saying that he raped her. We will oppose her, saying that she continued to visit him.  There is no need for this discovery about a 1-time incident. It would take us months to respond. 

Plaintiff's lawyer: They are sitting on evidence of 191 other sexual assaults

Judge: I'll let defendants move to quash, or for a protective order Afterward, the defendants asked to seal some of the transcript.

Tekashi #6ix9ine Charged with Drugs Amid DNA Swab of Gun so May 22 Is Next in SDNY

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 21 – Rapper Daniel Hernandez a/k/a Tekashi #6ix9ine, still on probation after sentencing as a cooperator in the Nine Trey gang case, was ordered detained on alleged violations of supervised release on October 29 by U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Paul A. Engelmayer. Inner City Press was there, from the thread (when he spoke for himself)

On November 5 the US Attorney's Office wrote to "recommend that the following sentence be imposed: (1) a period of thirty days’ incarceration; (2) followed by" - letter on Patreon here.

On November 6 Judge Engelmayer noted that he would ask questions.

UN Security on Begging Tour in Gulf and China After Helped Guterres Rough Up and Ban Press

UN GATE, April 18 – With the United Nations facing budget cuts and its Secretary General Antonio Guterres missing in action in his mansion on Sutton Place, the following from inside the UN was leaked to Inner City Press: 

The current Chief of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), Mr. Gilles Michaud of Canada, is reportedly planning a mission to the Gulf region and China, desperately trying to secure new funding.

As Inner City Press first reported, UNDSS faces a precarious financial situation, placing nearly 300 staff members—including directors and senior security officials serving in Africa and Asia—at imminent risk of losing their positions. 

 The prospect of receiving direct financial support from individual states—particularly without multilateral oversight—risks undermining the UN's claimed principles. 

Then again, Michaud's DSS already let Guterres use it to rough up and ban the Press. A fish rots from the head.

From what Inner City Press has previously published:

Dear Council Members, UNDSS will no longer have a presence in approximately 35 to 45 countries, severely impacting field operations.  In the remaining 120 countries where UNDSS will maintain a presence, regional hubs will be established.  UN agencies will need to reconsider their operational footprint in countries where UNDSS will no longer be present. The USG emphasized that UNDSS is not a protection agency but a risk management and analysis entity.
