COURTHOUSE,
June 10 รข A man arrested in
New Jersey after a car chase
by NYPD starting on the New
York City of the George
Washington Bridge was
presented in U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrates Court on May 12.
Inner City Press was the only
media there, and live tweeted:
AUSA says drugs
tossed, seeks detention. Federal
Defender: He fled before
arrest. Now that he's been
arrested he wouldn't flee, it
would only get him in more
trouble. He has many ties to
the community - in Baltimore.
He has siblings in NY. He
manages musical artists Judge: He
was previously sentenced to 12
years for narcotics
distribution. Now he's 56
years old, you say he's
working in the music industry.
Now a car chase with two kilos
of cocaine in the car? Kinda
tells me he doesn't care
what's legal and what's
illegal. Judge: That said,
if I were to release him on
bond, where should he be
supervised? AUSA: In
Baltimore. [After a break] Judge: I am going
to release you, but not until
the conditions are met -
including cash security.
$75,000 bond, secured by $7500
in cash Judge: I am
asking Pre-Trial to verify
this music business is
legitimate. No contact with
CC-1. And no communications
about drug trafficking.
Adjourned On June 9, a
two-count indictment was
returned and wheeled out to
Judge Jesse M. Furman. On June 10 Judge
Furman set the arraignment for
June 15 at 3:30 pm. The case is now USA v. Inman, 1:26-cr-243 (Furman)
