June 10 รข For the 1993 murder
in The Bronx of Luis Guerrero
and his wife Danis Sime in
1386 Nelson Avenue, a
presentment was held on May 20
in the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York of William Antonio Solis,
aka La Vega. Inner City Press
was in the courtroom, along
with family members of the
victim.
Solis was arrested and
detained in Tampa, Florida
then transported to SDNY. He
was ordered detained on
consent, with a next
appearance on June 3 before
SDNY Chief Judge Laura Taylor
Swain, to whom the case is
assigned.
Solis' defense lawyer said he
recently had heart surgery and
needs a medical order. On June 5 Chief
Judge Swain appointed Solis a
learned counsel expert in
death penalty cases; on June 9
she set the next conference
for September 9. On June 10 the US
Attorney's Office wrote in the
the Attorney General has
directed the Office NOT to
seek the death penalty. 2026 indictment
