Doctor from Ukraine Prescribed Oxy Like a Drug Dealer Now Asks Two Years Probation

Doctor from Ukraine Prescribed Oxy Like a Drug Dealer Now Asks Two Years Probation

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Oct 20 รข€“ A doctor originally from Ukraine pled guilty to prescribing oxycodone not justified by any medical condition, comparing himself to "a drug dealer."

He was initially presented on June 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrates Court, which Inner City Press closely covers.

His lawyer says he should be sentenced to two years probation, no jail, noting that he "immigrated to the US from Ukraine and operated his own medical practice in Brooklyn for more than two decades."

The US Attorney's Office agrees no imprisonment, but wants five years probation and a fine.

Sentencing is set for October 27. The case is USA v. Gribenko, 1:26-cr-258 (Vyskocil)
