Man In from LA Trying to Sell 40 Pounds of Meth for $50000 Is Freed on Bond on SDNY

SDNY COURTHOUSE, July 28 รข€“   A defendant charged with trying to sell 40 pounds of meth for $50,000 was the subject of a bail fight on July 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrates Court. Inner City Press was the only media there, and live tweeted:  

 AUSA: He faces 10 years, though he may be eligible for the safety valve.

Federal Defender: He is a life long resident of LA, he could fly here if the agents give him back his ID. He is self employed in apparel, VME [Defendant is wearing a Post Malone T-shirt]

AUSA: He went to Mexico

Judge: in 2021... I am going to release him on $50,000 unsecured bond, with two signers, travel restricted to SDNY, EDNY and CDCA and points in between. Preliminary hearing?

Federal Defender: Waive to the 30th [day]

The case is USA v. Guerra, 1:26-mj-3020 (Parker)
