COURTHOUSE,
May 4 รข A man charged with
robbing five bank branches in
New York City was presented on
May 4 in U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Magistrates Court.
Inner City Press was
there. He was
arrested on April 1 in Newark,
New Jersey, on a sealed
complaint signed on March 20
in the SDNY Mag court.
It took more than a month, but
he was transferred to SDNY on
May 4 at 9:15 am. It was still
morning when he appeared
before Magistrate Judge
Valerie
Figueredo.
His Federal Defender said she
was defer any bail
application. Inner City Press
looked back at the Complaint. It lists
five bank robbery: two in
Queens, one in Brooklyn, one
in Manhattan and one in the
South Bronx. So the case could
have been brought by / in
EDNY. Not said in the complaint: all five branches are JPMorgan Chase branches.... The case is USA v. Dejesus Torres, 1:26-cr-161 (Carter / Figueredo)
