SDNY COURTHOUSE, Feb 19 รข€“A man from India was detained by ICE in 26 Federal Plaza on February 19.

He filed a habeas corpus petition in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, where Inner City Press found it.

The case was assigned to Judge Denise L. Cote who asked for a letter by 6:30 pm, including on how the case differed if at all from her decision to release in Huang.

The letter says the petitioner has been transferred to Delaney Hall Detention Facility in Newark, NJ - and explains that he was initially arrested by Nassau County PD on February 18 "for prohibited sale of flavored products." Nassau County PD "requested ICE assistance in determining his identity."

This case is Patel v. Almodovar, et al., 1:26-cv-1420 (Cote)
