UN GATE, Oct 29 – The UN system is failing on Gaza and Ukraine, the Uighurs and Cameroon. And while it's mostly the fault of SG Antonio Guterres, his spokesman Stephane Dujarric as well as his his drab appointee as human rights designee Volker Turk are also to blame.
On October 16-17, in the middle of the Gaza crisis, Guterres flew off to China to give a speech praising Xi and his Belt and Road. Call it payback for CEFC China Energy, and more.
Then for yet another week, no answers at all to Inner City Press' written questions to his many spokespeople.
Now on October 29, with the UN failing on Gaza as it has on Ukraine, from Guterres this: "On this trip, I will visit the Himalayas to see for myself." On the way, he stopped over in Hamas' host Qatar, as he did during the World Cup of Blood. Gotta visit and bow down to the paymasters.
