US Only Wants to Meet Nigeria at UNGA As Linda TG Frolics with State Media Press Banned

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

UN GATE, Aug 28 – The US took over the UN Security Council presidency on August 1, 2023 - while US-based Inner City Press is still banned from the UN, and the US Mission and its Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield have done nothing about it.

On August 1 LTG took questions largely from state media, culminating in a lengthy statement from Bangladesh state media, which she seemed quite pleased with. Video here.

Inner City Press had and has questions about the failure of UN Peacekeeping in Mali and DR Congo, its abuses in Haiti - and LTG's inaction on China banning Taiwanese from the UN, and Antonio Guterres banning Inner City Press.

Inner City Press back on June 19 applied to enter to cover the UNGA "High Level" week that Thomas Greenfield gushed about. We will not rest - and even while banned, will cover this shameful month, which some dub America Last.

On August 3, LTG's "signature" event, on food. Then three meetings on Syria, on the 8th, 23rd and 29th. Nothing on Niger or Cameroon, or even Haiti. But they've got UNRCCA, a long time UN corruption dumping spot.

And beyond acquiescence in censorship, that's the problem with this USUN: they are silent on UN corruption (Guterres omitting SDNY convicted CEFC China Energy's link to his finance, through Gulbenkian), UN rapes by peacekeepers.

On August 28 it was reported that Molly Phee told Nigeria President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, "We appreciate your willingness to create an enabling environment for that. President Joe Biden is asking to meet with you on the sidelines of UNGA and you are the only African leader he (Biden) has requested to meet." This amid the crises in Sudan and Ethiopia, and Cameroon. And USUN refusing to answer Press questions all month.

Inner City Press on June 19 applied to the UN for access, as it gives 100s, to cover the UNGA week. Inner City Press has a NYC Press Pass and writes about the UN. The ban is contrary to the First Amendment (and even the UN's Article 19) but the US Mission to the UN does nothing.
