SDNY COURTHOUSE, Jan 4 -- The day after Jeffrey Epstein's settlement and release deal with Virginia Roberts Giuffre was unsealed and Kurt immediately published it on his DocumentCloud, Prince Andrew's lawyer Andrew Brad Brettler was to argue that Guiffre's case against the Prince should be dismissed. Kurt rushed in to the courthouse to cover it.
Kurt did a live stream from the now empty and freezing Foley Square, but it froze up and was not not able to be viewed afterwards. Some wrote to him saying it was part of the cover up. He wasn't sure but replied that he'd stream again at 1 pm, the press conference by UN Security Council president, Epstein-linked Mona Juul, that he was banned from.
Judge Lewis A. Kaplan, who also had the case against Kevin Spacey, asked Brettler how he could argue Prince Andrew was a beneficiary of Epstein's and Giuffre's deal, if the two of them had committed to not show it to anyone else.
Brettler continued arguing, but not only Kurt but others read the exchange to mean Judge Kaplan would allow the case to go forward, or at least not dismiss it on these grounds.
After a quick podcast in the fire stairs, Kurt was back there again at 1 pm. He had emailed Mona Juul directly - her address was on the Norway Mission's website - and asked her to explain how Epstein's $130,000 personal loan to her husband Terje Roed-Larsen had been used, and about Epstein paying $150,000 to take "the UN community" to see on Broadway the play Oslo, portraying her and Terje.
There was no answer. Terje had gone on TV to talk about the play, on the show of also discredited Charlie Rose; UNSG Antonio Guterres had been on the board of IPI, which took $650,000 of Epstein's money including for the play but beyond it, the Mongolian project with Larry Summers and Kevin Rudd (who claimed he'd not taken the Epstein payment.)
The UN Appeals Tribunal decision, with three out of seven slamming Guterres lifetime ban, did not draw any response from Juul or the Norway Mission, nor any action from the U.S. State Department to which Kurt had sent it. Kurt finished his statements in the fire stairs, then returned to research sex trafficking cases, from Minneapolis to the Eastern District.
This new project, along with one on Peter Nygard and his Prince Andrew and other connections, was coming together. From #MaximumMaxwell to #MirroringMaxwell.
