SDNY COURTHOUSE, August 16 – La'Shaun Clark has sued NYCHA and others for exposure to asbestos while living in 1100 Teller Avenue in The Bronx.

On August 16, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Chief Magistrate Judge Gabriel W. Gorenstein held a discovery proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

Judge Gorenstein said, for purpose of medical releases, Ms. Clark can fill out only the last four digits of her social security number.

He said of seven hours of depositions, the defendants could get an hour for cross examination. But they spoke up and wanted more.

Ms. Clark said court reporters said they would charge her $825 for two hours. Judge Gorenstein suggested it might take more than one day, but capped the costs and said the defendants should pay the overage.

The case is Clark v. New York City Housing Authority et al., 20-cv-251 (Engelmayer / Gorenstein)
