UN GATE, May 18 – While blocking at least seven opponents from even having their applications circulated, Antonio Guterres on May 7 held a ghoulish one-man "debate" on the road to stealing a second five-year term as UN Secretary General. Inner City Press live tweeted it, here.
On June 1, after incoming UN Security Council president Estonia, through Ambassador Sven Jurgenson, said the ghoulish one-man election is fine and will be pushed forward, Inner City Press in the morning went to film a stand-up outside the UN on the topic ("ACT is an act").
It began on the west side of First Avenue - but still, the UN Security guards in the booth on 43rd Street took to pointing, then hiding. It was like in Myanmar, the allegation it is illegal for a journalist to film security forces.
Then one of Inner City Press' co-founders of the Free UN Coalition for Access waved for it to come to the east side of the street, and began to recount how dead the UN has been. During this conversation, suddenly a suited UN Security official with a walkie-talkie came out. It's an abuse of public money, attempts to intimidate journalists and opponent of a Guterres second term. This is UN Security under Gilles Michaud, who never answered Press inquiries and allows his "security" force to be used to ban Press. We'll have more on this.
